My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, it is a lovely hotel, rooms are cozy, lobby is warm and confortable and we had no problem lounging there and looking at the amazing views on the lake(espcially with sunrise and sunset) they have a mini pool, gym, sauna,a lovely restaurant where we had the best roasted lamb!... more

The hotel was great, in a beautiful location outside the town, though they offered a convenient shuttle into town that ran both ways every half hour. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Alto Calafate. From the moment we stepped in the door, they treated us like family. They were so warm and friendly. My friend fell ill on our arrival to El Calafate (she brought the bronchitis bug with her from L.A.) and they called a doctor to see her immediately, and at no charge.... more

This is the first time that I can recommend an Argentine hotel. Good service and above all, good restaurant for decent prices and far better than most expensive restaurants, e.g. Casimiro Bagua. Hotel has a very practical mini bus shuttle service to downtown El Calafate every half hour , I really enjoyed the stay. more
