This Hotel is supposedly a 4 Star Hotel. It really calls into question the rating agencies, as this place is barely a three. We booked the more expensive Mountain View Suite and were pointed to a room facing the hills. When I spoke to reception, I was told that this was the mountain. In fairness, they resolved the issue after... more

We stayed at The Cape Town Hollow for 3 nights as part of our 7 night holiday in April. We had read a lot about this hotel, mainly stating that it is ot a 4 star hotel, as it claims to be. I would definately have to agree with this. First of al, our travel agent told us that it... more

4 days spent in Cape town. The room we had has a good size and was very clean. Great view (Table Mountain) and friendly staff. Very good location, in the heart of the city (in front of Botanic Garden and South Africa Museum, Greenmarket is near). more

Hotel is in fabulous position at the bottom of Table Mountain. Rooms on upper floors are better. Rooms were comfortable and clean and reasonably well appointed. Restaurant menu could get a little boring after a while but there are a fantastic number of restaurants around to try. Hotel staff, especially Leisl very helpful and knowledgeable and will recommend restaurants to... more

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night in Feb08. Hotel is old and in serious need of upgrading. Dont be fooled by the pictures on the hotel website. Looks can be decieving. We booked 2double rooms at the hotel online and had printed confirmations requesting 1double/king bed. On check-in at the hotel at about 1pm the check-in person was... more

Great little hotel, and quite good value for such a central location just off Long Street (R1000 for a twin room inc b/fast). The room was clean and tidy, and the addition of a small kitchen was a real bonus. Location of this hotel is absolutely its best selling point, just opposite the beautifula Company Gardens, which many tourists miss... more

I m very disapointed about this hotel. They say its a four star hotel but i would classified it as a 2 star maximum. In my room, there was no tv remote control, "the kitchen" inside the bedroom was dirty and half way constructed and the beds (there were two of them) were not the same kind. One of them... more

This initally wasn't meant to be our hotel, however we were sent there when our hotel had electrical problems! The hotel doesn't look very impressive from the outside but the rooms are immaculate, we had fresh towels everyday and the bed was made. Be warned if you have a hire car they charge something like R40 per night for parking,... more

We have just returned from a trip to South Africa. Our first stop was Cape Town, and we stayed at this charming hotel. The staff were extrememly friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was brilliant with choices of full english (fry up), continental, lots of fresh juice and fruit. there was an excellent choice of... more

5 days spent in Cape town as part of our honeymoon Have to admit first impressions were not great when we checked in and found out that Virgin Holidays had not informed the hotel we were honeymooners and therefore due an upgrade. We ended up with a twin room at the back with no view and a strange kitchen area... more
