Preferring small intimate hotels, preferably with a decent sitting area and some kind of food preparation area, this hotel fitted the bill perfectly. Location very good, in the heart of Ipanema.You can walk to the beach,restaurants,shops. Good size rooms with fridge and microwave if you reserve "suites".Around the area are some bars that can make a A LOT of noise during weekends or festivities. Very nice breakfast with excellent service.Reception competent with service that goes from polite to indifferent...but never too bad. more

Stayed at the Visconti for 2 weeks in November 04 and thoroughly enjoyed it - apartments well presented and cleaned daily. Buffet breakfast included was fine and available until quite late. Desk staff very polite and helpful, even when they don't understand the question. Some of the desk staff speak English which was a great help with queries regarding instructing... more
