Outstanding location, very helpful staff, decent and clean rooms. Not cheap for brazilian pockets, but if you can afford it, totally worth it. Depending on where you go, what you can save on cabs will give you a nice discount. more

I agree with the other recent reviews of this hotel, awesome location. A little pricey at 220 reais when we were there, but worth it for the convienience. There is a bike path right in front of the hotel which runs the whole length of both Copacabana and Ipanema. Arpoador rents bycicals for 30 reis for 4 hours, a great... more
What a great location! This hotel allows you to eat a decent breakfast right on the beach (see picture of the view from the breakfast room) and is equidistant from both Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. The standard room was small with an inside view, but it was very comfortable with a great shower, etc. Given the weakness of the US... more
Stayed at the Arpoador Inn Ipanema Brazil in Feb 2008. The hotel is very clean, reasonable breakfast but the best is its location. You can have breakfast on the boardwalk of a morning overlooking the beach. The hotel is within walking distance of bars/restaurants/shopping. If you want somewhere cheap, clean, but in a good location then this hotel is for... more
I stayed here in October 2002, on my first trip to Rio, and have to say that it was a nice little hotel, with a killer location, and great views of Ipanema beach (from the upper floor back rooms). Nice to go to sleep listening to the waves crashing! While it does not have the amenities one might expect from... more
The Arpoador Inn is absolute beachfront - between Ipanema and Copacabana. We had 4 nights in a "Superior - Frente Rua" room for R$240 per night (room #509). This was a street view room but we could see Ipanema beach and also Christo Redentor (in the distance). The room was clean and a comfortable with a good shower, there is... more
Great location in Arpoador. From the hotel you can easily walk both to Ipanema and Copacabana, the two main beaches in Rio. Staff was very helpful, rooms were clean and they offer towels for the beach. If you don’t mind paying a bit more for a room with a view, go for it! Breakfast was not very nice. Avoid eating... more
We stayed here for 3 nights in late May and couldn't have been more pleased. I should state that we are not the type of people who like to stay in the hotel and therefore need a lot of amenties and luxury when we stay somewhere. If you are similar-minded, this hotel should work out well for you. We stayed... more
If you don't mind being scammed an additional 16% of your bill, then this is an good hotel for you. Because I have a "thing" about being taken advantage of, this kind of trickery can ruin an otherwise pleasant experience. The positives of a standard room are location, cleanliness, large bathroom, good breakfast that you can eat almost on the... more
This hotel is located right on Ipanema Beach, almost at the intersection of Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. Rooms are basic with above average bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is very good with a wide variety of choices from hot items, pastries and large fruit selection. There are a lot of restaurants within a few blocks. I was very happy with this... more
