The Monte Pascoal is a total gem in the ocean of hotel mediocrity in Salvador. It's on the best possible location on Barra beach - the only hotel I can see on the seafront between the statue and the lighthouse. The room is immaculate. I group of friends and I stayed at the monte Pascoal in may for about a week. First of all we had negotiated a group rate for beach front rooms, and as we all checked in on different days they were very sorry to inform us that they had no beach front rooms available, they put is in side view... more

This hotel is great. Rooms are great, people are great, reasonable prices- and the food is amazing. The TV even had some English channels for the English speakers. I thought it was weird that there was no iron in the room- but then the front desk told me that the maids would iron my clothes- for dirt cheap! I wanted... more
