My husband and I chose this hotel because it's on 6th street of downtown Austin and we wanted to be within walking distance from the bars, clubs and music. All of the other hotels in the 6th street area are double the price of this one. At first, all the hotel booking websites showed this hotel as full for the... more

I could have been very disappointed with this hotel since I had just spent a few days on business in the brand new and rather lovely Marriott Residence near by on 4th Street. I stayed here at my own expense for last two nights of my trip chosen purely on the location and cost of the room at $118 a... more

A very good welcome and when I asked directions later he phoned the place to make sure where they were and ga ve us great directions with smile. You can here the neighbours at times but at $65 + tax not bad as you have a kitchen included. The room isn't cleaned everyday we prefered this instead of having to... more

First, have to say, the bathroom seemed very clean. That's a big plus. The kitchen was small, also clean. Fridge seemed clean. Ok, overall, clean room, but had the feeling the carpet needed a good steam cleaning, and noticed a large patch of freyed bedcover, so felt this indicative things were neglected. And the cover was no higher quality than... more

If you love cheap, this is your place! From the lack of anything that would make a hotel comfortable (radio, extra blanket, hair dryer, garbage removal) to the choice of the least expensive option for everything (just a few lousy channels of cable, flourescent lights for every lamp, scratchy thin towels); this is the Motel 6 without the great price.... more

I was very hesitant about staying at the Extended Stay since I am a creature of habit but decided to give it a shot. SO glad we did! From check-in to check-out, the experience was excellent. Granted, there is nothing fancy about the facility- the hallways are quite utilitarian and the rooms are almost dormroom-basic. However- it was so clean... more

The previous posters seemed to nail it: The Extended Stay is probably the best value in downtown Austin. I checked extensively and found few if any hotels in that area at a cheaper rate. Location is also great. We were able to walk to the major attractions, Sixth Street, Capitol and UT, with no problem. Folks at the front desk... more

This isn't a luxury hotel, but for a stay longer than a couple of days, it's perfect. Basic rooms, but with reasonable cooking facilities so you don't have to eat out all the time (microwave, stove top, no oven, huge fridge) - fridge a bit noisy at night, though. Desk, and table, and good wardrobe & drawers. Laundrette on site.... more

I recently returned for the third time to this hotel. There are two main reasons for staying there: Location and price. Considering both it is very hard to find a better bargain in downtown Austin. It is not a full-service hotel, but the suites are equipped with everything required to make a longer stay comfortable and are very clean. The... more

We stayed here during a visit to Austin in October 2003. The location is perfect - right on the corner of Guadalupe and 6th Street - which means that guests are within easy walking distance of the great bars, clubs, and restaurants in Austin's 6th Street and Warehouse districts. And the price was very reasonable for such a central location;... more
