Overall, staying at Hokke Club Kyoto was a pleasant experience. First of all, I couldn't be happier with location - just across the street from Kyoto Station and right next to Kyoto Tower, with an underground shopping mall and a post office (currency exchange and international ATM) within steps. I agree with the previous poster that this is a no frills hotel; however, there is free Internet access in the Lobby and the hotel is a good value. I stayed in the Hotel Hokke Club in Kyoto for one night because other hotels in the area were booked. HHC is what's known as a "business hotel" in Japan--cheap but basic accommodations for business travelers.
