The National is adjacent to Red Square and is much cheaper than the other central hotels in Moscow, albeit still pricey as are hotels in Moscow in general (try to be here on a weekend, when rates are lower). Our room (we were upgraded to a small suite) was fabulous, with windows overlooking Red Square. The breakfast buffet is huge,... more

Nice hotel, service impecable....Reception staff great. Concierge terrible-always felt like a burden. The hotel security staff are very KGB impression and never friendly. Location is 10/10 as were breakfasts. Moscow is expensive and not for those who cannot speak Russian. Have a guide or don't go. more

We stayed at the National Hotel August 12-18, 2008. We were visiting for vacation purposes. Everything about this hotel was amazing. Before our arrival, booking was seamless (through Starwoods website), and the National hotel was very helpful with Visa Invitations. The location is the absolute best in Moscow. Directly across the street from the Kremlin & Red Square. Upon arrival,... more

Stayed here for a few nights for business. Hotel has great location across from the red Square. Booked a single room and it was indeed a single room. Small bed and rather small room, but ok for 1. Bathroom was rather new and nice. Good Breakfast. Hotel is a little old style but very nice. Paid 9000 Ruble pr night more

We have stayed one night in National Moscow during our visit in August. The hotel is pretty old and has this nostalgic old touch, which was very sympathic for me. though I can imagine, some guests wouldn't like that. The room was pretty big for russian hotel, a kind of dark and cold and not so cosy, but somehow that... more

Like most things in Moscow this hotel isn’t cheap but you can’t fault its location. This hotel is central to just about everything important for tourists in Moscow, i.e. the Metro, Red Square and the Kremlin – even the breakfast room looks over Red Square if you’re lucky enough to get the window seat. The staff were very friendly and... more

We (family with 2 kids - 14 & 11 yrs old) visited Moscow end of April for 5 days. Arrival at airport: everything went fine. No troubles with Russian douane. Taxi to Center: I've read that you have to take an official taxi. However, in the airport somebody asked us if we needed taxi. I told him what is his... more

This hotel is central to just about everything in Moscow. It's about 1000 meters from Red Square. Perfect. As in most Russian hotels, the front desk is not very friendly but they will accommodate just about every request. They are extremely professional and very formal. The most obvious thing about this hotel other than it's absolute beauty, I mean beauty,... more

This hotel is not one of the cheapest at £250 per night for a standard room but just across the road from Red Square the location is the best. We only had 2 nights here so needed to be very central. All the major sites - Kremlin, Red Square, National History Museum and St Basils are within a few minutes... more
