First the good points. The hotel grounds and the villa were beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. What ruined the holiday was the quality and cost of food and beverages. From the very first night when we ordered room service the food was poor quality and poorly prepared. On the first night in question we ordered a curry... more

This place is stunning. We went there for our honeymoon. Our Villa was perfect, the food was great (although if you are staying more than one week it would get too rich) and in general the people were warm and welcoming. However - all I have to say is please do use the safe! We had £60 sterling stolen from... more

We stayed at the oberoi from the 24 feb 08 to 10 march 08,it is an all round very very nice hotel & would take a lot of beating. We stayed half board wich is a good way to go as it is quite expensive £6 a bottle of beer ,just having the one restaurant does get a bit boring even... more

The best service I have ever received anywhere. And not the ghastly bowing and scraping kind, just friendly, courteous and genuine people who really seem to have pride in their hotel and their island. I think it's the French influence, but everyone is amusing and with character. There is NO service charge and they ask guests not to tip so... more

This hotel is phenomenal. It is in a beautiful location, is attractively laid out, and the staff are genuinely friendly and provide a very high quality of service. The rooms are attractively kitted out there is a good balance between, natural light, views and privacy. The bar is nicely located by the beach and the restaurant has some great dishes.... more

We stayed for two weeks at the Oberoi Mauritius at the end of September. The hotel itself is beautiful – the grounds are lush and attractive and the rooms were of a very high standard. The hotel has two swimming pools – if I was being fussy I’d say they could be a little bigger, but they’re pretty and not... more

The Oberoi hotel as a 5 star establishment cannot be faulted...The villa with a pool was beautiful and was spacious enough for us and our child ( 6 years)...any older though and you would probably have to book 2 adjoining rooms. The Pool and garden in our villa were stunning...a slate pool with verdant plants surrounding...total privacy and shielded from... more

I've just come back from a two-week stay at the Oberoi Mauritius with my wife, and we were very impressed. For starters the ground are beautiful. They told us that they had recently won a prize for the best hotel gardens in Africa, and it shows. Everything is very nicely sculpted and there are lots of different trees and flowers.... more

Spent hours selecting a relaxing get away to Mauritius and finally picked the Oberoi, despite some bad reviews. This is the perfect relaxing get away if you are in a couple, want to eat good food, receive excellent service, stay in a smaller boutique hotel and a part from sunbathe, eat and use the water sport facilities, not do much.... more

The hotel property itself is beautiful with only 76 rooms and a staff of about 250, but it is somewhat remote so we mainly just stayed on site. Unfortunately, we had issues from the time we arrived. First, despite several calls from our agent to the property to arrange a taxi and advising them that there were 4 adults arriving... more
