My husband and I traveled to Tokyo just after Christmas together with some friends of ours. We chose this hotel because the rate was very reasonable (under USD200/night… we booked the room through the hotel’s website a month before our trip). The hotel is located right next (3 minute walk from hotel room) to Akasaka Mitsuke metro station and a... more

The New Otani in Tokyo is huge. It consists of two towers, the new and the old tower. I stayed in the old tower because there was a huge price difference between the two. My single, king, room was a corner so it was large and spacious. No complaints regarding the room. The things that I do not like is... more

The New Otani is made up of two towers: the original 1964 Olympics tower (which looks austere) and a round-edged white tower built more recently. They are connected by a long corridor and the entire hotel sits on a 10-acre garden that has a small waterfall. (Actually it is a big waterfall if I were to have it but it's... more

The hotel complex is larger. We took the airport shuttle through bumper to bumper traffic to the hotel front door. The checkin was easy since we had membership. We were in the towers, the bed was comfortable and we loved the bathroom. We had a great view of the city and the park outside of the hotel. The gym had... more

I tend to stay at this hotel every time I have a business trip to Tokyo. It's very classy and upscale. However, the carpeting on the lobby floor looks very old and moldy with stains. Employees are very polite, and they bow and greet you when you walk by. The rooms are always very nice, although most of the time,... more

It was just wonderful to be at Tokyo New Otani Hotel. It is a monument of Tokyo’s history with its 400 years old garden. But the most striking thing about it, besides a high level of professionalism of its management team, was the legendary kindness of the service personnel. It was so smooth and kind that within the ten days... more

I only stayed one night at this hotel and was pleased with the accomodations; it was above average but nothing spectacular. The bed in my room was huge like someone had put together 2 full size or 2 queen size beds. My problem with this hotel was the size. It was enormous. It seemed like you walked across a mall... more

I just returned from two nights at the Hotel New Otani in Tokyo. This was my first time on Tokyo so I cannot give a good review of the hotel in comaprison to other local properties. It seems the hotel is overpriced (but again, it's my first time in Tokyo so I could be wrong) compared to New York or... more

The Hotel is very large and has little personality. The rooms in the tower are comfortable but nothing out of the ordinary for a hotel of this rating. It seemed to take forever to get from the rooms to many of the restaurants or other entrances. Breakfasts were great and the view from the 40th floor excellent. It is close... more
