After arriving in Dahab late at night to find our booked accomodation was .....terrible ( Penguin Village - see review ) ...we just looked for the closest hotel that seemed ok ...lucky for us it was the Sphinx ( New) Hotel!!! The reception is manned 24 hours ...very friendly and helpful staff ...the rooms are great ...with 2 types A... more

Please note: the 'old' and 'new' Sphinx hotels often work in conjunction, you might find yourself chopping and changing between the two to suit the people who coordinate the rooms! The good: there is a pool (which was FREEZING while we were there so didn't get much use!), there are plenty of restaurants and shopping in easy walking distance, breakfasts... more

The rooms were clean and beautiful, the resort (and it IS like a resort) property was gorgeous (with a pool and lounge chairs looking out onto the ocean), the staff were as friendly as could be (they helped organize outings and transportation at a discount), and I could have easily given the Sphinx Hotel a 5-star rating if it wasn't... more
