I've stayed at the Sonesta Port Said a number of times over the last year or so, and I now dread the thought of having to return. The hotel really sums up Port Said - tired, dusty, drab and dated, on the way downhill. I stayed at the Sonesta Port Said during last August. This was my 4th visit to the hotel as my company has a corporate deal with Sonesta Egypt. The hotel has done a lot of renovation in its second floor rooms, and now the rooms are truly a good product specially the sea view rooms. Food in the Italaian restaurant... more

One of the few acceptable hotel options one has in Port Said, Sonesta is located right at the Mediterranean-side entrance to the Suez Canal. Canal view rooms offer truly excellent views of ships entering the waterway, but they are rather poorly kept.
