We were really happy with the Red Mangrove. We stayed there a week, and the staff was always very friendly and helpful, everyone spoke great English. They can arrange day trips for you, just let them know what you want to do. They have a restaurant that overlooks the water, and a great deck, too, with wonderful staff and a... more

Our family of 19 folks (2-81 years) just completed a week at Red Mangrove. Everyone found satisfying activities and generally enjoyed our stay. Hotel staff recommended a well-paced visit to the area. Although be advised the sea can be rough during August and sea vessels can be quite small with smelly engines and inconsistent quality of captains with varying ideas... more

Dear Lisasf, It was our pleasure to be your hosts in the Galapagos. Thank you for your comments. As of today, the Red Mangrove Galapagos Lodges are closed for the next two weeks while we complete construction on Floreana and Isabela and refit the Aventura Lodge so no guests are inconvenienced as you were when a pipe burst underneath the...

It can be a nice hotel, but dont stay in the Amarilla room, is't a very small room for 2 Adult. And it's very close to the exit and it has a swamp just there so you have the bad odor all the time in your room. The food was okay for breakfast, but the Sushi was really bad, the... more

Dear Mr. Montreal, We, the Management of the Red Mangrove, would sincerely like to apologize for any inconveniences or problems you feel you experienced during your stay with us. We constantly strive to provide our guests with the best possible service and options, so it truly concerns us when a guest departs less than happy. We would also like to...

Small hotel in the mangroves (as promised) and on the beach. Great service ethos from front desk and serving staff. What it lacks in some sophistication it makes up with commitment and velocity. Given its position in the mangrove, don't forget the mossie repellant (the rooms are fine - just the lobby and the terrace). more

Our family of 4 just spent a week in July 2008 on the Galapagos and another week in the Quito/Otavalo area. We preferred a landbased Galapagos vacation as our 15 and 20 year old daughters preferred some flexibility to our schedule and we also preferred to be amongst various Ecuadorians not all tourists like the cruise based tours. We contacted... more

This is a great Eco-lodge set in the middle of the mangroves. The hotel, the staff and the food is fantastic. My only advice is to be really clear on the tours that you have booked. They were two options for most of the days on my itinerary but it makes sense that they run certain tours on certain days... more

The Red Mangrove Adventure Inn is an amazing place...it's quirky, to be sure, but absolutely wonderful if you're the right kind of person for it. If you're looking for a sterile, U.S. chain type hotel, then this is not for you. If you're looking for something different, something that stands out during a vacation that lets you know you're away... more

We spent 5 nights at the Red Mangrove as our base in the Galapagos. The hotel is small and the rooms are quirky -- some better than others. We were in the Turquesa which was a good size and close to the water. Mornings on the deck with local wildlife, including a sea lion, were great fun. The staff were... more

A whole week of sunny, blue sky with lots of activities for all my family members wouldn´t have been perfect without The Red Mangrove, the cutest corner in the islands, our center of operations. A revamped 10 cozy rooms Inn, surrounded by shining green mangroves, walking distance to Darwin's Station, with a warm-hearted, professional crew, who gave us an unusual... more
