Good location in Chinatown, not far from MRT. Helpful staff got room ready before formal check-in time. Room small but comfortable. more

My wife and I stayed three nights on a stopover to New Zealand. We had already read reviews on TripAdvisor, so were aware of the fact that room would be small. What we were not prepared for was how friendly the staff were and how unusual the hotel is, in terms of layout and decor. If you like walking, the... more

This was a lavish experience worthy of a far greater price. After staying in many hotels in Asia over the past 18 years this has to be the friendliest luxury hotel ever. The interiors design and colours are mood evoking and stunning to be amongst. The breakfast not a vast choice but totally satisfying with service at its best. It... more

I felt like this hotel was overpriced. But I don't think it's so much the hotel's fault, but Singapore in general. This city-state is getting more and more expensive, and it's a shame but it's true. Anyway the hotel is fine, biggest let down were small rooms. I got upgraded to a deluxe room and all it had for a... more

One of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. Everyone should at least spent one night in this hotel. Anyone sensible will at most spent one night in this hotel. Beauty in its purest form, every detail artfully crafted, a real showpiece. A pity though that the rooms are tiny. And when I say tiny, i really mean tiny.... more

Stayed for 1 night at Scarlet. Having read all the reviews, I was concerned that I might get a room without a window. Well, I was glad to get a room (on the 2nd floor) and bathroom with windows! Unfortunately there was traffic noise outside at 12 midnight when a few rubbish collecting cars tried to empty their rubbish onto... more

We live in Singapore but just had a night at The Scarlet Hotel after a friend's birthday there. So what's good and what's bad? The good things are the hotel's dining facilities on the lower level and roof level. Gorgeous boutique hotel (ie pretty "high camp" if you know what I mean, but done pretty well) atmosphere and great food... more

We stayed at the Scarlet for two nights as a stopover on our return from Europe. Overall it was a very nice experience, with only a few small issues. The first issue for many people could be the decor. The designer appears to have been allowed to go mad and do whatever he wanted, as long as he stuck to... more

I checked-in at 4pm and I was told my room was not ready (given that their website or it is widely acknowledged that the standard checkin time is 2pm). The front desk staff were not helpful. I asked them if they could put me in any rooms so that I can get changed and put down my luggage. I was... more

The hotel is great in a super location in Chinatown. The problem is the staff. Unfriendly, unhelpful and rude. The front office / door people are so unfriendly; they look away when you are approaching and then ignore you. Sooner or later this hotel will go out of vogue and the only thing left will be the staff and atmosphere... more
