We were travelling with our 2 young sons (12 & 9) and our travel agent made a reservation for a room with at least 2 double beds to accomodate all 4 of us. Unfortunately this hotel does not apparently have rooms like this. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and told that we had been given a complimentary upgrade to... more

Securing a discount rate, I expected that we would stay in the hotel's worst room. Check in was quick and efficient considering we were first-time guests. Perhaps Lady Luck or my guardian angel was smiling, but the room was terrific: quiet, good bed with crisp linen, a great bathroom and suffcient toiletries. The swimming pool was first class, and pool... more

It's fine and clean but even with the exorbitant rates in Singapore, I don't think this should be classified as a 4-star hotel. The public areas are quite nice but the rooms need total upgrades. Stains on the walls, dingy, banged up furniture, dark bathrooms. Unfortunately, I landed in Singapore during a HUGE conference so most other hotels were booked... more

Paid US $320 for the Superior room which was moldy, smelly and basically the type of room you would get at a US $100 Days Inn. Complained but couldn't get upgraded to anything better. I would highly recommend not to stay here for more than it is worth (US $100). Great service, nice lobby but this doesn't compensate at all... more

We booked the Grand Copthorne through Qantas online which seemed to have the best deal going for an executive club room in Singapore for the period of time we where there (8 nights Jan to Feb) We had a room with king size bed on the top floor (30) and although not the largest it was certainly reasonable size. The... more

Staying in Singapore is getting expensive, especially when there are large events and conferences going on. Last week was not different. Where my regular hotels are chargeing S$ 600 to S$ 800 per night, I found that over the top and an internet search revealed that special rates at the Grand Copthorne were still going. So a call was placed... more

Despite the hotel appearing to be nice, I was pretty disappointed in the end. After waiting in line ~15 min to check in, I was directed to my room on the 7th floor, bearing in mind the entire 6th floor was being renovated. Construction noise went to well into the night (11pm) and after killing a few small cockroaches in... more

Spent a week at the Grand Copthorne for a business trip. Arrived about 12.30am and found the staff very pleasant to deal with at that hour. Was quickly in my room and in bed. Broadband was available and easy to access, wireless was available in the ground floor restaurant. Had a buffet breakfast one day and it was standard hotel... more

Building work on sixth floor noise was terrible vibrating through the walls. Advised that it was management policy not to advise clients before their stay. Therefore was unable to change hotel as stay was pre-booked and paid for. more

Having stayed at Sentosa Resort and Spa on our way out to New Zealand we decided on a city hotel for return. We were disappointed. The check in stafff were disinterested, even at midnight when we were exhausted they didn't volunteer the way to the lifts! The room was rather shabby, scratches on furniture, very wobbly pull out for keyboard,... more
