Mercure looks pretty good generally. They have a restaurant, a pool, an elevator, an International banking service which didn't work, a small convenience store priced through the roof, but fabulous breakfast bar. The reception desk tried to hold our NZ passports, that took some arguing but we won in the end. Our first room had patches of wet carpet but... more

I have been using the Mercure since 2001, it is the only Hotel I will stay with in Luxor! Food is excellent, location is spot on. Room quality and daily cleaning is very good. The staff are so friendly and helpful, other hotels should take a leaf out of their book! Most of the staff have become very good friends... more

We got back from Mercure Luxor on the 3rd. September, 2008. As a party of two young ladies we felt quite safe during the day and especially at night. As for the hassle outside, sometimes you can enjoy some friendly banter, other times you'll have to be firm No! meaning No! so everyone knows where they stand. Inside the hotel... more

Stayed here for a couple of nights with wife and our 6yr old boy. On hols in sharm but took time out to fly down and see the sights. Mercure probably has the best location in Luxor, all sights within easy reach, some like karnak/luxor temples can easily be walked from the hotel. Great looking lobby area but the rooms really let... more

Myself and a friend have just come back from Luxor. We stayed at the Mercure from the 4 - 18th August. It was one of the best holidays ever. We had previously been to Egypt in April on an Explore tour so wanted a relaxing pool holiday. Yes the rooms were a little basic, but clean and the staff were... more

We just got back from a 7 day stay at the Mercure. The only bad thing i can say about the hotel is the rooms. They are very, very basic! But the view made up for it. The 1st room they gave us was wrong, 2 singles, instead of a double. We spoke to the manager and within 10 mins,... more
