I have stayed at this hotel several times on business due to its great location in Kathmandu. It is quite adequate, staff friendly though not the most efficient. The restaurant is OK and there are plenty of options once you step out of the hotel. They have an interesting Yeti footprint which you must check out if staying here! more

We (a pary of four) stayed 2 nights in the 'club rooms' with butler service at the end of our Nepal/Bhutan tour. It may have been relatively expensive however the experrience was a wonderful end to our period of touring. I can only comment on our rooms on the fourth floor and unlike some of the recent reviews they were... more

My experience has been really pathetic. I almost missed my return flight early in the morning because of the hotel demanding from me payment for a water bottle which was free in my package. They realised their mistake after wasting my 30 crucial minutes and did not bother to call for a taxi for my airport transfer (included in my... more

This hotel has great character and used to be good value, though I notice the price is now double what i paid a matter of months ago. The grounds are nice and the rooms big. Breakfast is a sumptuous feast. One criticism is that the gym facilities are poor and not included in your room. more

great staff, good food, nice garden, but the hotel is old, the rooms are clean but the carpet is old and stained, desperately needs a remodel, this is more of a 3 star hotel more

Our planned 2-night stay turned into one when we missed our domestic to international connection in Delhi. Nice, historic hotel, with good pool area, gardens, and tennis court. Casino (not American style but reminiscent of what I've seen on small Caribbean islands) and disco, along with three restaurants and a nice bar. One restaurant was Chinese, one continental (buffet and... more

The hotel has a nice garden in the back that you can sit down and relax in the afternoon. The rooms are a little bit smaller than our average 5 star rooms. They have a slightly overpriced (although par for a 5 star hotel) dinner buffet that serves decent typical Nepali and international dishes. Breakfast buffet has a good selection... more

I spent 10 days at Yak and Yeti early February. I was arriving from my usual guest house in Thamel (Mustang Holiday Inn) which was too uncomfortable in winter (no heat - rare hot water and basically looking sorry in that climate - place needs serious renovation that is esier to ignore in good weather conditions). I negotiated a rate... more

My daughter and I were looking forward to staying at this famous hotel. The public areas were lovely, but the rooms were tired and smelled terribly of mildew. We looked at about 6 rooms, including one on the business floor, and found the same problem everywhere. The first manager we dealt with pretended not to know what we were complaining... more
