My daughters and I just returned from a two-night stay at the JW Marriott, and I would call it a perfect getaway if not for our lumpy beds. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating with us. Valet parking was $35 a day. Room was clean and bright with a very comfortable bed. Food options were a little limited - two restaurants and the Starbucks in the lobby. Walking distance to many of the sights - White House, Wash. Memorial, National Mall, Smithsonian.
