We stayed a week at Topaz Hotel and had a very pleasant time. It is few minutes walk to Dupont circle. We booked two connecting rooms for our family of four. Not only the rooms are very big and comfortable, but are nicely decorated. The hotel is on a relatively quiet street, so street noise was not an issue. Beds... more

Hello ankakalpazanka. Thank you for your posting. We greatly appreciate your feedback. I can understand your feelings about the room and I am glad that you and your family enjoyed the décor and the quite neighborhood also. In addition, it pleases me to know that the staff did an outstanding job of assisting you. I do hope that you will...

The Topaz Hotel is about three blocks from hot and hip Dupont Circle down the street from the National Assn of Broadcasters and Connecticut Ave. This is a small boutique style hotel. My room was surprisingly large, quiet, with an excellent bed, sitting room sofa, chair, desk and chair, TV and separate shower/bathroom. The room decor was eclectic: something between... more

Hello Varvararodriques. Thank you for staying at the Topaz Hotel and for posting your comments about your trip. It is a great way for us to better understand your needs. I understand your comments about our lobby. It certainly is small, but I hope that makes it feel homey. In addition, I agree with your comments about the room and...

I satyed in the Topaz hotel for two nights on a business trip. I had stayed in other Kimpton hotels before and I am a fan of these funky boutique style hotels. The hotel entrance had doors that were hard to open and a very small lobby with a boudoir style sofa. Unfortunately, there are small stairs to get from... more

My most recent stay was in April, but I've stayed at the Topaz several times before. This is my favorite of several hotels I've stayed at in DC. The neighborhood is beautiful, a nice mix of leafy residential streets and quirky, unique shops and restaurants. I felt safe walking alone at night. Convenient to the red line Metro or a... more

To Royalgreymini, Thank you for your comments. I am excited that you have stayed at many hotels in Washington DC but that the Topaz Hotel is your favorite. Thank you for coming back to us, we appreciate it! The neighborhood is quite beautiful I enjoy walking the tree lined streets during a nice day. And the location is outstanding. I...

A wonderful hotel located in a charming street (probably the loveliest street in Washington). The rooms are huge, nicely equipped. Surrounding bars and restaurants are great. Highly recommended more

We mostly loved the Topaz - especially the groovy surroundings. The room was fabulous, clean and amazingly decorated. It was a nice room to walk into after a day of travelling. The bathroom was pleasant and the Aveda toiletries were a nice touch. There was only one bathrobe even though two of us were staying, which was an annoying discovery... more

My brother and I brought our parents to DC to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We wanted everything to be perfect and did a lot of research on hotels. I did see some bad reviews for this one, but the location and price were perfect, so we booked. From the moment we arrived, it was a great experience. The staff... more

The Topaz is a nice hotel, a little off the beaten path but very close to DuPont metro, restaurants, etc. We had actually stayed in this building before prior to renovation - what a difference. The rooms are nice with a quirky decor that may not suit everyone. If you are coming for business and are in a standard room... more

The hotel had some nice touches--it was not your standard hotel room (I was on the 10th floor), very large with unusual furniture and designs. At additional expense, I booked an "energy" room which is advertised to have workout equipment in the room. But keep in mind there is no guarantee you will get the equipment you request --and I... more

Stayed here for a conference the week of March 3rd. Our group had 5 rooms. All of us enjoyed our stay and the accomodations at the hotel. I must say the front desk personnel were very polite and professional. One of them, a young lady who works the day shift, could be America's next top model. Very polite and polished.... more
