In August 2005, my husband and I stayed at the Sofitel Hotel in Budapest. They were doing some renovations, however this did not bother us. We stayed here for 10 days, and we never ran out of things to do. We did several walking tours, they were a fantastic way to see the city, both old and new. Our room... more

Excellent location and helpful staff. Major sights, river walk and outdoor cafes/restaurants are all outside your door. I recommend a river view room: quite lovely at night. I am not a fan of the open atrium (a la Hyatt) hotel, but my corner room had great views, a separate sitting area and nicely appointed bathroom. I would not recommend the... more

Amazing hotel! We stayed there for a week through new years eve. The staff and especially the concierge are very helpful and helped us book everything we wanted to see The lobby is amazing and the hotel has an atrium with an old ww2 pink airplane hanging from the top. Breakfast does not have the most quantity but is is... more

We stayed here at the last minute after finishing a Danube river cruise and needing an extra night in Budapest. There was no waiting for the room on check in and teh beds were the most comfortable ever. Its a great location with shopping and restaurants nearby. more

This is an excellent hotel. I have stayed here three or four times per year over the past 12 years - mostly business, but with the occasional weekend trip with Mrs CW. It was previously a Hyatt, but Sofitel have done a good job of converting it to the their style, particularly in the public areas. The rooms are reasonably-sized,... more

Stayed one night for business trip. Perfect service at front desk, very good location along the Duna River (ask for it otherwise you might have a room on the back side). Had a corporate rate so it is defintily worth the price. Spacious room, very fresh bathroom, quiet. You can get your car parked by the concierge overnight. The only... more

I went to sofitel for a week of training. My room looked over the danube river. the room is clean and pretty good designed. the pillow were the highlight of the room. They were so fluffy that it was a hard thing to wake up in the mornings. The hotel itself is very centrally located and modern. you have a... more

Make sure you get a river view room on one of the higher floors - 'deluxe'. Our deal again included a bottle of champagne and dinner in the hotel restaurant, which we highly recommend. The glkass lifts which go up and down inside the atrium are a nice feature of this well-designed hotel. Staff are very helpful, particularly the evening... more

I visited the Sofitel Budapest for 3 days on June for a conference. The hotel was luxurious and grand. Hotel room was above average. On the river Danube. It has a majestic lobby and breakfast area, few conference rooms and a casino. Reception staff were "French" but they seemed ok. Room service was fine. Breakfast was adequate and lunch buffet... more
