Stayed for 3 nights in a King Spa room. The room wasn't in bad shape and was pretty spacious. TV was fuzzy on the free-to-air stations. The renovations are still ongoing and were pretty noisy in the day but thankfully it didn't affect our stay. The staff however, had difficulty in getting the bill right. First they had us checking... more

We recently spent the weekend at the Grand Hyatt in a King Spa room. To say we were disappointed in the experience would be an understatement. The room itself was old, pokey and desperately in need of a revamp. The bed was lumpy and there were scuff marks all over the walls. I agree with one of the previous reviewers... more

I definately enjoyed the location of this hotel. I do like the "Paris" end of Collins Street. However, it is definately not a 5 star hotel. The renovations do mean that the entrance is not particularly wonderful etc but it is the rooms that disappoint. King size bed is two singles pushed together and there were many scuff marks on... more

Ok, so there have been some reviews knocking the Hyatt during its rennovation stage. I, for one, can't wait for them to be completed and will definately be looking to go back once they are. But this review will be in the interim while the place is a portion of its former self. I stayed here under the Amex FHR... more

Grabbed a great deal for a king room on the 27 floor. The room however was quite small but the bathroom was stunning and spacious. One major complaint though is the pillows they use. They are feather pillows with no support so did not sleep at all well. The size of the bed however was more than satisfactory. Similarly, whilst... more

Booked a FHR stay through AMEX and was upgraded to club lounge (which was fantastic as per previous reviews). Not only were the usual FHR amenities provided and explained to us upon check-in, we were surprised by the free bottle of wine and plate of chocolate dipped strawberries that awaited us in our room (maybe this is a GP Platinum... more

We decided to treat ourselves to some "luxury" and so chose the Grand Hyatt. What a mistake. The room was small and dirty. There were no spare blankets. The beds were uncomfortable (and in fact one was broken). The sheets were so thin that the mattress and mattress protector could easily be seen through the bottom sheet. There was no... more

The renovations weren't a problem. This hotel really just underperforms for a supposed 5 star hotel. I had 2 nights in the hotel but a few nights apart. On use of valet parking on the first stay, it was very slow to get the car returned the following morning. To save myself time the next morning, I self parked, and... more

Booked a weekend break for myself and wife, thought we would splash out on a quality hotel. Website did indicate that the main hotel lobby was being redeveloped - we were aware of this at booking time and this did not cause any problems. However, customer care and room maintenance was not up to the standard we were expecting. Staff... more

I had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne for 5 nights. We had a private transfer too and from the airport (Worth every penny) booked through the hotel. Like our stay in Perth we booked the Awaken Package. Our room was upgraded on arrival and we had a Yarra view room. The rooms are huge and the... more
