“Port Douglas is great but Dougies needs to clean up!”

It is not a bad hostel but needs to be cleaned up. Had fun in Port Douglas , bit of a long walk back to Dougies after dinner in town and did not like the push to spend money it the bar. Must check the Sunday markets-great. more

Finally we found a hostel that cared for us as travellers rather than just being after our cash. The staff were very nice and they had plenty of time to answer our questions about the reef and rainforest. We had read the reviews on this site before we stayed and were pleased to see tthat they seemed wrong. The kitchen... more

Stayed In Dougies in October 2006 found the staff very helpfull but the smell in the Kitchen needed to be improved. Rooms were fine. more

We stayed here for 3 nights. We're not typical backpackers so I found the 'laid back vibe' here a little too laid back at times - the kitchen and bathrooms weren't as clean as other places we stayed at. It's also a little walk out of town and with few shops / places to eat nearby... However having said that... more
