Steer Clear of Here Mould Cockroaches and Stink... you will wake up feeling ill from the smell in the pillows, linen, drapes and carpet. Booked for 7 nights holiday season, had to stay for 2 till we could find elsewhere., my worst holiday experience. Cost me $1,610 for 2 nights. We loved this location......at the end of the main street in Port Douglas and very quiet. Four Mile Beach is just outside the door!! The owners could not have been more helpful, especially in recommending and booking a Great Barrier Reef snorkel trip and Daintree Rainforest guided tour. They were perfect! i thought this would have been a better stay, the room was not clean when i arrived late at night following a note tacked on the door. i was also panicked when ordering the shuttle bus back to the hotel because i realised that they did not have my number, and there is no one at reception at night. but... more

We arrived late and there was a note telling us our room number and that the door was unlocked and the ligths were on..... The room looked old and there were lots of bugs welcoming us. Stayed at Archipelago for 3 nights. Initially booked for 1 night but decided to book 2 more because we liked it so much. The location of the hotel cannot be any better.
