We arrived at the Old Sydney Holiday Inn after a 20 hour flight from London, we actually arrived into Sydney at 05.30am and headed straight to the hotel. When we arrived we were extremley happy with the location as we were only a stones throw away from the Bridge and Opera House. As it was really early and most hotels... more

Stayed for 2 nights 22/23 April. We booked 2 nights through Wotif at $199 per night - 2 double beds plus breakfast, on 6th Floor. Best location especially for tourists new to Sydney. Direct access to Circular Quay, by train or shuttle, from International and Domestic airports. Just a couple of problems with restaurant, fixed by keen management, initially let... more

Very expensive but as a one off it was certainly worth it. The view from the roof really is amazing and if two 15yr olds can be impressed it must be good ! The location is incredible, sightseeing bus stops right outside the door, 5min walk to circular quay and ferries to Manly etc. We were really sorry to leave.... more

This hotel is fantastically positioned in the old Rocks area of Sydney. If you ask for an executive room you will be looking out to The Opera House across the harbour and Sydney Harbour bridge to the left - absolutely fantastic view! The rooms are huge with a living area and well as king size bed, flat screen tv, huge... more

Old Sydney Holiday Inn is in a great location, surrounded by lots of nice little cafes, restaurants and pubs. All the sights are only walking distance. The staff at the hotel where friendly and helpful, everything was clean and well maintained. The rooms where fine, a bit small but overall good. This hotel is reasonably priced for the location and... more

Older hotel but well maintained in a fantastic location for tourists. 2 mins walk and you are on circular key directly behind the cruise ship terminal. 10 min walks to the ferrys and then another 5 mins to the opera house. The Rocks markets are outside the door at the weekend. 10 min walk to the heart of Sydney shopping.... more

We wanted to stay somewhere central for a few nights and you don't really get much more central than this. Located slap bang in the middle of The Rocks, there's tons of restaurants, shops and bars just outside. I thought it would be noisy, but we couldn't hear a thing in our room (first floor, at the back facing a... more

Stayed here for 5 nights, it's the perfect place to be in Sydney, very central, not too noisy, plenty of good restaurants nearby in the Rocks area. Room overlooked Harbour Bridge which was perfect, bathroom clean but ready for a renovation, otherwise everything was great, staff very helpful, gave us umberallas for the couple of rainy days we had. Would... more

My husband and I stayed here as the main part of our honeymoon stay in Sydney, due to its central location and its affordability. On arrival we were allocated our opera view room which was on the 6th floor, with a great view of the opera house. Could not have been a more central view, although it was often obstructed... more

Those of us charged with the responsibility of organising travel itineries / accommodation for ones family are keenly aware of the pressure to "get it right"! This responsibilty becomes particularly onerous when the family includes young children. My wife and 2 children ( aged four and seven) recently celebrated a relatives wedding in Thredbo, and decided to incorporate 4 days... more
