This parador is in a beautifully restored medieval hospital and our room was well up to the usual and excellent Parador standard, with a spacious balcony overlooking the monastery. The staff were friendly and breakfast and dinner were both very good. Guadalupe is well off the main roads in a beautifully scenic area. The village itself is quite small, with... more

Stayed at this Parador for two days in late March 2008. The experience was wonderful. The small town is very quiet and a chance to see real Spain where little English is spoken. Our lovely room had a balcony overlooking the Parador, Monastery and hills in the distance. The quiet at night was only broken by the chiming clock which... more

This is an excellent hotel in almost every respect but nobody warned us that the bells of the cathedral chime on the hour all the day and night. So if you are a light sleeper you have been warned. more

We stayed at parador of Guadalupe one night in December 2007. Guadalupe and it´s parador are hidden gems. Guadalupe is a very ancient monastery and you must do the tour. The town itself is very tipical. The only thing we regrett is there are no cosy restaurants, only touristic ones but the food is good. The parador has very big... more

We only had the one night here after 2 nights at the Parador in Jarandilla. They are both delightful. Whilst the facade looks rather plain, its what's hidden behind the walls that are the real gems. The orange grove in the central courtyard was charming and after the hustle and bustle of the town, quite an oasis. Parking is very... more

Very few Brits go to Guadalupe which is a shame as it is a beautiful little town which seems to be known only to the Spanish. The Parador was once the Hospital of St. John the Baptist a historical 15th century building. I believe that Christopher Columbus stopped here to sign his contract and collect the money from Queen Isabel... more

You probably need to know about this one, as it isn't a place that many tourists outside of spain will have heard about. But it's about time they did. We stayed two nights in a wonderful room with a superb balcony that overlooked the cathedral and monastery. The Parador just oozes charm and history - 15th century, so from the... more

We were looking for a place not crowded of tourists in mid-final July just to scape from the hell of madrid in summer. And we found it! :-) The views from the terrace are beatiful, the room is spacious and the food in the restaurant is very good. more

This was the best parador we visited on our recent tour. It is a beautiful building situated right next to the monastery with on-site parking (9 euros). The town itself is beautifully situated in the sierra with great views from the approaching roads, particularly the road north to Navamorral. We ate an excellent dinner on the terrace in the lovely... more

We stayed at the Parador Zurbarán in Guadalupe in late September. Booked directly through the Parador's website after reading about how lovely this hotel was, and we were not disappointed. The Parador is situated in an old 15th century hospital opposite the monastery and has it's own parking. Our room and bathroom were large, comfortable and nicely appointed. White washed... more
