We have just returned from a three night stay in the Parknasilla Hotel in Sneem. I had visited the hotel briefly many years ago as a child whilst on a family holiday in the Kerry area and had always wanted to stay there. I wasn't disappointed. The hotel has been recently refurbished but thankfully has retained its old world charm.... more

Just back from our honeymoon at the newly re-opened and refurbished Parknasilla Hotel. What can we say about this magical and unforgettable hotel?? Of course, the facilities and accomodation are top notch but this hotel is about so much more than just first-class rooms, restaurants and service. Our room was a suite which was a particularly special way to experience... more

Stayed here in late august. As stated by other reviews it is due to be refurbished and I think this will be to its advantage as it is just slightly worn in certain places(carpet etc). Food was excellent and childern can dine at earlier setting for dinner. Wonderful walks and views. By the way, that lake the other reviewer had... more

We are just back from a two night stay in Parknasilla. It was like stepping back in time to a different world. Room was good quality, comfortable and quiet. Staff were great and in particular the porters and restaurant staff couldn't have been nicer. Food was great - breakfast and dinners. Parknasilla is a wonderful old-style country house hotel and... more

We travelled last minute to Killarney on a busy August bank holiday weekend and the Great Southern Parknasilla was the ONLY place with a vacancy for us to stay. It was €200 for a standard double room for the night - this was the best rate they could give despite the fact that we only booked at 9pm that night!We... more

My boyfriend took me here for a romantic weekend. What a disaster! He had made the reservation through Central Reservations but the hotel had no record of these. As a result we were ungracefully dumped in a tiny room towards the back of the hotel. The grounds are lovely and the views amazing. The leisure centre is old and out... more

Without doubt the setting of this hotel is incredible and if you want a relaxing break it is ideal. Still it is important to separate actual building & hotel service etc from its magnificient location. My pro's & cons Pro a) Fabulous location b) Extremely peaceful c) Lovely walks in grounds Con a) Has become very shabby with even the... more

just back from one night stay in the hotel - 3 stressed out 30 something women - we had a wonderful time - the hotel is like a sanctuary of peace and tranquility. From the moment we entered the front door and were greeted by the porter, the local staff were lovely - it was almost a novelty to meet... more
