My wife and I,together with two close friends have just returned from a week's vacation at the lovely Astoria Hotel, travelling with Inghams. The Hotel is situated in a very secluded park, close to the famous Tettuccio Spa,yet within a pleasant ten minute stroll into the main town. One cannot praise this Hotel highly enough,it has an old world charm that prides... more

Staying at the Astoria Hotel in Montecatini Terme was a really enjoyable experience. From when we booked in until we left the service was excellent and whenever we had a request it was always met straight away with courtesy and friendliness. The hotel was very comfortable, tasteful and spotless and the food was delicious and plentiful. We tried but never... more

My wife and I (both in our sixties) spent eight nights at this family-run hotel which we understand was built in the early 1900s. So there is a feeling of tradition about the place - indeed the friendly man who runs the reception is in his 51st year at the hotel! We found it an elegant, relaxing, and friendly place... more

Plus points - 5 minutes walk to the centre - lovely surroundings - good breakfast - good rooms, but somewhat dated - rooms have a small terrace - family friendly hotel Minus points - not all the staff speak english - be on time for diner - arrival after 8h30 and there is a rush to have everything served more

As the other reviews on here state, the Astoria is the perfect getaway however, there were a couple of sore points for me. The room was good and the pool was gorgeous as is the location and for peace and quiet, most of the time this is the place to be. A couple of sore points for me though were... more

We just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay. The Hotel Astoria is a real hidden gem--about a 10 minute walk from town, so if you like peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Things here are done the old fashioned way (the right way), and the service is superb! We booked on a half board basis (breakfast... more

The Astoria says it's not for everyone - they're right. If you like noisy poolside bars with lots of activity - forget it. If you like almost complete silence, tranquil surroundings beside a lovely pool and peace to read that holiday paperback this is it. Very few of the staff speak good English. It doesn't matter. They're helpful and friendly... more

OK, lets get the niggles out of the way first: the hot water was not very hot, the only english speaking TV channel vanished after 1 day and when we asked for the use of an ironing board,I rather think it was the first time this request had ever been made as a bewildered chap set it up in the... more
