The hotels location is in the centre of town and is surrounded by a lot of cafe's and shops. The hotel has some beautiful architectural charcteristics. The rooms are big with high ceilings. The furniture is outdated and and the carpet needs to be replaced. The shower cubicles were too small for big people to use. When it comes to... more

The location and town were great, but the room was pretty shabby. Great high ceilings, but the view to the interior courtyard were inaccessable due to the shutters not opening. New carpet and a renewed bathroom would not go amiss, and a renovated air conditioning system would be great. The hotel itself is a great old building and renovations would... more

We were lucky to get a spacious room with shared use of the very large terrace overlooking the Gambrinus Bar but the air conditioning hasn't improved. The beauty of this hotel is firstly its position being by the cafes, a short and easy walk to the park and the spas and a short stroll to the railway station where there... more

Four of us returned to this hotel for the second time, the staff are fantastic, and friendly, the food is great, and the location is perfect. This is a true Italian Grand Hotel, the rooms we were allocated were fantastic, and please note, this hotel is busy ALL year, it is always full, lots of tour groups and transit passengers... more

This is a hotel with a lot of character, but it could do with some money spent on it. We had a really nice set of rooms, very comfortable but the furniture was on its last legs. The food was good, the idea of vegetarianism seemed to fox the kitchen staff but they were very kind in trying to find... more

My husband and I, and our 7 months old daughter spent 3 nights at this hotel and we LOVED IT! The rooms wore nice and spacious with plenty of closet space; the bathroom with shower is not big, but adequate. Our room overlooked the main piazza with the fountain and the big church; we really liked the location. Very central,... more

We travelled with Archers Tours choosing and paying extra for 4* accommodation. The downstairs foyer and dining rooms were well appointed but our bedroom was definitely not. The room overlooked the main square, rather than the rather dingy internal courtyards. The bathroom had a small cubicle, the curtain clung to you when showering and the water sprayed all over the... more

We were 2 couples for a 4 night stay. Our room faced the main square, large but has seen better days, yes a litle noisey at night but everything shuts down at the stroke of 12. Our traveling partners had an inside room with a terrible gloomy, musty, dark feel about it. Paid the same price but did not get moved... more

Unfortunately I agree with the previous reviewer, this hotel is not 4*. On first impression it is grand enough with candeliers and a large entrance hall but the bedrooms are dark with worn brown carpet. Just changing this carpet would make a significance difference to the whole effect. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean and the food is satisfactory... more

We have just returned from a six night say in this hotel and it is certainly not a four star hotel. The public rooms and the restaurant are passable but the quality of the bedrooms is far below that expected of a four star rating. They were cramped, noisy, poorly decorated and the furniture was flat pack that had seen... more
