We stumbled upon the Raincliffe entirely by accident on an internet site, and what a find! We booked to stay in June and it was such a treat, we booked to stay again in August before we'd even left the building. Everything is to the very highest standard, and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are huge and very... more

We stayed for one night in Scarborough during a quick tour of the North East, and fortunately came across the Raincliffe Hotel. Very welcoming, nice clean rooms, a very friendly atmosphere and a good cooked breakfast. Parking is on the (quiet) main road and it's about 10mins walk to town and the sea front. We would certainly stay here again,... more

My husband and I stayed at the Raincliffe Hotel for a weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We felt like we were visiting friends and it was our first visit! We were made so welcome. The accommodation was excellent, comfortable and immaculate. The breakfast was the best we've tasted. Mal had a great sense of humour. Kath was really enthusiastic about... more

Fantastic. My family had a fab time and my children aged 4 and 6 were made very welcome, so much so that they actually thought we were going to live there and when they found out they couldn't, wanted to stay longer! We all especially loved the brekky and our family room was both comfy and very roomy. We really... more

It was just a flying visit -2 nights- but we were most impressed. The hotel is conveniently situated in the resort. The decor is excellent, everything is of the highest quality and the room was very comfortable. The whole place was spotlessly clean too. Breakfast kept you going for the whole day! The owners were very friendly and went out... more

Marvellous! Katherine and Mal are obviously very enthusiastic about their guest house, and equally enthusiastic about Scarbourough. The result is a marvellous holiday. The food is both plentiful and excellent. The rooms are clean and tidy with plenty of tea and coffee. The beds are comfortable, and the weather is very good (for more of the time than you might... more

This is a newly refurbished, but happily still feature-filled Victorian hotel, decorated to suit its era, but with all mod cons in the bright bedrooms. Although it does not have a lift, and there are some steep steps up to the path to the door, it does have a ground floor bedroom for the less able. They do not take... more

Scarborough is one of Britain's most famous holiday resorts with much to commend it, however you do have to choose where to stay with some care. Luckily, I went to the Raincliffe first time. A wonderfull welcome from Katie, and with Mal's sense of humour to accompany the breakfast! This is my third visit to this hotel since Katie and... more

We have just had an excellent weekend staying in the Raincliffe Hotel. Our room was fresh, clean and superbly comfortable. The hosts are a lovely generous couple who really know how to look after their guests. The Raincliffe is a beautiful guest house and I could have sat in the lounge all day. Scarborough itself was a real surprise and... more
