The hotel itself is great...the staff was great, the room was above average...but the location?? Beware. Athens in general is pretty scary with a ton of vagrants and crack-adicts everywhere, but see the picture in the add?? That park is full of used needles and vagrants. There are military men hanging around the hotel corner because the Polytechnical school on... more

Had a good stay here. Room was baking hot, but the air con worked reasonably well. The bathroom was tiny. Not unusual for Greek hotels though. Balcony had a great view too. SOME of the reception staff were really friendly. Breakfast was a bit average, but still very popular. Always makes me laugh watching some stingy guests making sandwiches for... more

Good hotel with nice clean rooms. Only downside for us was the position, it was a little too out of the way and we didnt really feel safe walking back at night. Breakfast was good and staff helpful. Great place if you are wanting to spend a lot of time at the museum. more

The Museum Hotel was about a 20min, easy walk into the Plaka area. At first it does seem that the area is quite dodgy but Athens is pretty much covered in grafitti, which, if you're not used to it like were weren't, gives an image of having a high crime rate. When we first got to the hotel all the... more

If part of your trip to Athens involves a visit to the Archeological Museum, then this hotel is about as close as you're going to find to it! The room we stayed in was quite nice, there are a couple of free Internet terminals available, and the included breakfast is better than average. The Omonia Square metro station is a... more

We booked this hotel for 3 nights at the begnning of March through lastminute.com and it cost about £63 per night. I am 5 months pregnant so emailed the hotel the week before we went requesting a non smoking room with a bath if possible for my comfort. the hotel responded immediately, upgrading our room to an executive non smoking... more

26-31 Dec 2007 My husband and I have 3 small children (girls), ages 5,6 and 8. We visited Athens with our good friends which also have 2 small children aged 4 and 7. Hotel Museum was the only hotel which would confirm a quad room to my family. Other hotels would only accept a DBL and TPL . As you... more

Stayed here recently on a holiday to Athens and the islands. I've stayed in a few places in Athens in recent years and found that this place was above average for the price. A mate and I booked a triple for 3 nights for £200; we had a double bed each with a sofa in the spacious room, and a... more

The good reviews here sum it up. A few points to sharpen, from my experience: The area is not the most well lit in Athens at night ( but not the least either ) but I felt safe there. Walking distance to Omonia metro station is 8-12 minutes. I recommend this station as your base for metro traveling. One minus... more

We were very comfortable at this hotel for four nights in August. The rate we got was 85€ per night which included a very decent buffet breakfast ( ok the coffee and OJ could have been better: have the apple juice and tea!). The area was OK; it's true that the side of the museum across the street is seedy... more
