Cannot recommend this little hotel highly enough. It's in a great location in the old part of Caiscais, close to bars, restaurants etc but tucked away on a little side street so it's really quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a renovated old palace so it's not modern but done in the "old style" which... more

We've just returned from our trip to Portugal to play Golf. We had a wonderful first experience in Portugal. This former Manor House is the perfect place to stay, if you want to know Lisbon (1/2 an hour by train), Sintra (20 min by car) and to play golf. This B&B Hotel is located in the historical part of Cascais,... more

The Solar Dom Carlos is a very economical hotel for people who don't want to spend big money on a place to stay in the Cascais area. In May 2007 my Wife & I got B&B plus 2 rooms consisting of main bedroom with double bed, TV & air con with a large bathroom en-suite, The other room was a... more

We stayed one night. This was once a beautiful home but has not been loved in recent years. Quiet, but our room was very run down, stained bedspreads and throw rugs, threadbare towels in an awkward bathroom. Beds were good. Staff was very nice and friendly. We moved Casa Pergola the next day--what a difference a day makes. Be warned--three... more

We visited Cascais, Portugal on April 2007. After reading the great reviews on this web site, I was sure that the hotel would be a great place to stay. We booked a family room (for 5 people), and the price was really attractive. In some guides, the hotel is described as "a lovely 16th century mansion". This is probably true,... more

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of Feb. so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Nice people, free parking right out front, great location, a decent breakfast. The rooms are a little musty, but clean, beds good and hard. The washrooms are hot water deprived as most hotels like this are, but were fine. One... more

Me and my family stayed at solar in the 25th of january. I have to say that our room (it was a family room we were 3 persons) was large enough for all of us, clean and fresh. The breakfast room with all the lovely paintings make you want to stay there for ever...not to speak in the several choises... more

We were there in january and I must say that it is a really good place to stay. The garden is wonderfull, quiet to sit and lay, with the music of the birds. Our room was very big (it had 3 beds). The breakfast is good (even for who`s in a diet...cereals, yogurts). In the beginning my husband was interested... more
