Saw some bad reviews for this hotel, so did not know what to expect. I opened the curtains onto the balcony, what a view of the pretty marina, and of the mouth of the estuary to the sea. Had a lovely stay at this hotel in July, just before most schools broke up for summer. Wonderful setting amidst Portimao's stylish harbour, definitely at the "right" end of Praia de Rocha. We stayed in the block of apartments furthest away from the main hotel block. Average self catering room, quite modern and in good condition, needed a couch though, or at least a small dining table to eat at. There was plenty of room for either. Stayed at this hotel for 1 week in May 08. We flew into Faro and picked up a hire car. The drive to Portimao was smooth and the roads were easy to navigate. The old bridge into Portimao has been closed and our Sat Nav wouldn't take us to the new bridge so a bit of map reading was required.... more
