Overall, I liked the hotel for its central location (we walked almost everywhere), modern rooms, and clean bathrooms. It is right in Dam Square and a quick walk to the train station. We stayed in a side building and the rooms were quiet. Check in and out was easy and efficient. It is also right next to a yummy fries... more

I've stayed at the Krasnapolsky about 5 times over the years and often found it disappointing. On my most recent trip I had to pay about 450 euro's a night for a room due to a conference in Amsterdam. For that I got a TINY room with a single bed out in their back building backing on to the red... more

Great hotel perfect location. Close to everything. Amsterdam is a great city and the Kranapolsky was the best place to stay with its nice size rooms and location. It is easy to find, if you dont have too much luggage you can walk from the train station, it might be a quarter mile. Dont waste your money on a cab... more

first night experience: an extra small room with an awful smell coming from the bathroom ( almost vomited...) breakfast: descent reception: willing but insufficient and as a cherry to the cake: they tried to charge 350 euros for a phone call that never took place. when i denied it they implied i was a liar... what a wonderful attitude! beware... more

I agree with most of the reviews that this hotel is not a 5-star property. Stayed three nights in August, booked via Priceline. I had a room in the "Royal Wing", which is actually a separate building connected the hotel via a corridor. The room was quite big and had large windows with a nice view to a very busy... more

I know others have panned this hotel but we had the most wonderful experience and I would highly recommend the hotel to others. My husband and I booked a 3-night stay in Amsterdam via Priceline and honestly were a bit concerned when the Grand Hotel Krasnoposky accepted our bid due to some of the reviews, but it turned out to... more

We got this hotel through lastminute.com and we didn't know the hotel name (the secret hotel offer that they have). We got it for very good price (240 GBP for 2 nights). When we got there, the reception girl wasn't very smart and it took her 1 hour to find us in system. She was nice and smiled a lot... more

I've stayed for 2 nights in the executive level overlooking the Dam. The room was located on the second floor providing a wonderfull view over the Damsquare. Unfortunately the room itselves was very very basic, a very small and hard bed, one inconvenient chair and a very oldfashioned and little dirty bathroom. The lightening and electronical equipments in the room... more

My family had lived in the Netherlands and were at the end of our stay. We stayed at the krasnapolsky for a total of 3 weeks and 4 days. They ruined what would have been a nice end to our Holland saga by throwing us out! We had asked that our reservation be extended as we had problems getting flights... more

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Krasnopolsky for two nights this summer. My flight got in around 830 from Philadelphia, and I took the train for the airport to Centraal Station. The train is cheap and there was plenty of seating. A taxi or the hotel shuttle is much more expensive, and takes about as long. From Centraal station you... more
