The new Dolder Spa is heaven for Zurich, but there is better in a european compare. The hotel has not direct discounts on rates, just combo packages including spa treatments. we had a nice suite facing the lake and the city of zurich. since the hotel is located at a hill above zurich nights at the magnificant bar are lonely... more

I cannot voice a comprehensive opinion as I only stayed for one night, but my overall impressions were as follows: -Am impressive facade as you arrive, especially by night. -Slightly souless public areas- not much character. -Food was excellent as one would expect. -The spa is sensational. -The room was clean, ultra modern with every convenience imaginable including even a... more

We were welcomed warmly after our taxi ride from Zurich HB train station and checked in efficiently and quickly. The buiding is magnificent and we were shown to our room in the spa wing within 10 mins of arrival. Unfortunately the warm welcome did not extend to a complimentary drink which would have been a nice touch. We had to... more

I loved it albeit it was a one night stay. Beautiful drive from the airport and a very friendly greeting from all the staff. Like many of your other reviewers, I was in a Single Room which I rather liked with its simple but tasteful decor and an excellent bathroom with a seeming 100 gallon a minute a shower. The... more

Avoid the new Dolder at all if you are looking for Service and if you are not booking one of the top Suites. We stayed for 1 night. The single rooms are very small and do offer no views at all. Service: It took 10 Minutes during Breakfast to serve a simple Orange Juise whilst the Restaurant had only about... more

I had high expectations about the Dolder following the much talked about renovation and the opening of the large spa. My main impression was that the hardware is good but that they still need to work on some issues. The building itself is stunning: the old wing has been very well renovated, the new wing is impressive. The hotel overlooks... more

Been at the hotel perhaps 30 times and enjoyed every stay. Truly, one of the world's most classical hotels. Negatively, there has been much employee turnover during the last few years. The charm of knowing and be known is no longer there. more

The old Dolder Grand (what you see in photographs) is beautiful. What they don't tell you is that there is a new section adjacent to it. And, if you are as unfortunate as we were, you are put in the new section. The new section is awful. It is as charmless and as bland as a Red Roof Inn (not... more

We visited the Dolder for 2 short nights in March of 2003. This was a magical hotel with spectacular views of Zurich. Like many European hotels, the double windows opened to wide views of the lake. In the evening, with our windows open, we could hear the local churchbells. The hotel is slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown... more
