We loved our stay in the beautiful town of Spello, albeit for only one day and one night. This hotel is located perfectly, about 40 metres from the centre of town. The walls and ceilings of the rooms and waiting areas are adorned with frescos, and the lobby area makes you feel like you're walking into an old Roman villa.... more

The hotel sits in the midst of the old town, just below the charming central square, opposite a magnificent chapel sometimes open with a monk who will turn on a workman's light to show you their prized Giotto. That's Spello, gems hidden here and there, and this hotel sits amidst all of that. It has warm public spaces and a... more

If you are at all particular about your accommodations, I would not recommend Palazzo Bocci. The common rooms are lovely but do not reflect the quality of the guest rooms or their small, windowless, dingy bathrooms. All of the chair/sofa fabrics are stained and spotted. The furniture is in need of replacement also since it's covered with scratches and dents. We... more

Great hotel in small town, everything is good quality, there are lots of beautifully furnished common areas to sit in, and even a nice bar area. Breakfast is excellent, with fresh fruits, yoghurts, breads, croissants etc. The people were invariably nice. Instead of going to one of the restaurants there, you might consider one of the two enoteca's on the... more

Our stay at Palazzo Bocci was delightful, as was the town. The public areas are well-decorated; I especially liked the room with the frescoes (we sat there one evening and had some wine). Our room was a good size for European hotels; the chair in the room, we noticed, could fold out into an extra bed for a child. Our... more

Well the pictures definantly oversell the place. While the lobby appears very old world , the rooms where very outdated 1980s decor and very small for the region. The front desk staff were extremely helpful though sometimes misguided in their info. I asked the front desk to recommend a beautiful spa. She directed me to an very old, worn down... more

We had a room facing the hills but there was a hwy not far so if we opened the windows we heard that noise. They haven't a pool and it... more

Ah, to return to the Palazzo Bocci... We stayed here for 3 nights during a 10 day trip to Italy and would return many times over. Not only is the hotel itself just lovely, but the town of Spello is completely magical. It is the quintissential hill town. It seemed somewhat undiscovered by tourists, yet there were plenty of shops... more

The Hotel Palazzo Bocci is well located in the historic and easily accessible hilltop village of Spello which is ideally situated for exploring Assisi, Perugia and other places in Umbria. The hotel has a charming, helpful staff and is nicely appointed with comfortable rooms, cable TV and roomy bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is fairly extensive and tasty, well up to... more

Located a short distance from Assisi this is a great spot to stay. Palazzo Bocci is a lovely hotel in the center of Spello a charming, quante village with great restaurants and nice shops (wonderful linen shop close to hotel). The Palazzo is beautiful, our room was very nice and the staff was beyond helpful. I experienced a problem with... more
