My wife and two young daughters enjoyed a wonderful week at Borgo II Poggiaccio. The property and setting are stunning, but the hospitality by the owner, Irena, made our visit special. The location is good for trips to Florence, San Gimignano, and Siena. We will definitely return. Cheers! more

We were on our honeymoon trip across Tuscany and we were looking for something exactly like this villa. It looks really nice, old building with wall from stones, nice pool, amazing smell of flowers all around... We got apartment called Romantica, was pretty, but not for the price we paid (we got a discount 150 instead of 180 euro). Bathroom... more

Our first stay was immediately after 9/11/2001, when we had booked into and stayed at a local Agriturismo, which was a total disaster!. Dear Irena had fortunately (for us) had a cancellation and was able to fit us in, this was a welcome and a half and a holiday that looked like going 'pear-shaped', became wonderful. We wandered around south... more

We spent 4 of our nine nights in Italy at Borgo il Poggiaccio. The accomodations exceeded our expectations as did the reception at the hotel. Our accomodations were upgraded to a class D Apartment (we booked a C) at no charge. The apartment was more than enough room for myself , husband and two children. The apartments are tastefully appointed.... more

My husband and I stayed at Borgo Il Poggiaccio Sept 24-29 and could not have enjoyed our stay more, it was the highlight of our two week trip to Italy! The hotel is a beautifully restored 14th century little village that has all the charm of a Tuscan hamlet but with all the modern day amenities. It is located in... more

We spent two weeks traveling around Italy and this was the absolute highlight of our trip. Irena and the staff create such a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere where you really feel like you are getting away from it all while still providing first class service. Everything was available to us, whether it was going on a bike ride, going hiking,... more

We stayed for 4 nights in August 2006 in La Vecchia Scuola (the old schoolhouse) and heartily endorse all of the many positives written by others. Would just like to point out a couple of things not covered by other reviews. Firstly as the apartments can be self catering if you wish, please note that the nearest shop is about... more

My wife and I just returned from our one week stay at Borgo il Poggiaccio. This historical hamlet was just what we were looking for. The grounds were simply amazing and thoroughly relaxing. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Each morning we went to the restaurant and had a perfect buffet breakfast under the Tuscan sun. After breakfast each... more

The apartment was outstanding and huge! We stayed in what was formally known as the 'guard' house. It was two stories and the Tuscan sunsets from our balcony were wonderful. The restaurant was very welcoming after a long day of sightseeing. The entire grounds were very quiet and you never really knew other people were staying within the hamlet because... more

My wife and I stayed at Borgo il Poggiaccio for our twenty year anniversary. I did a lot of searching on the web to try and find a villa type resort near Sienna to give us a fairly central location in Tuscany. The photos on the web looked great, but you never know exactly what you'll find when you arrive.... more
