Second time in Lucca and we shan't be staying here if ew go back a third! About a 15 min walk from the train station and 25 from bus (as long as you know where you're going! - It's easy to get lost in Lucca's streets so pick up a map at the station) The staff emailed me upon booking... more

Struggling to find last minute accommodation within the walls of Lucca, we ended up booking the Santa Chiara. Now we know why they still had vacancies. The staff were very friendly at this hotel but there was never enough hot water for everyone to shower before breakfast. (there were 4 of staying on two roomsfor 4 nights) The rooms are pleasant and clean - towels are not changed frequently. The biggest disappointment was breakfast. Fresh bread on two out of 4 days. This is a friendly, clean & comfortable place to stay. But found there is a big problem with traffic noise from street. This starts around 6.00am so dont stay here if you want a lie in. more

We stayed at the Residence Santa Chiara, Lucca on two occasions in Sept. 2005. This is a very comfortable B&B and newly renovated.
