We were in Lucca for visiting some friends and stop at the Universo as recommended by those friends. Staff were absolutely helpful and friendly and the Hotel is so lovely; they say it is the first Hotel builted in Lucca and inside you could find antique furnitures together with modern stuff like internet Wi-Fi. The hotel was pretty and was within the old city walls, which was important to us. Our main complaint was that we woke up with bug bites all over from what we think were mites in the bed. Not very comfortable. more

We stayed at the hotel Universo in august for a short vacation. After reading the feedback here I was very worried about what I could find. But as soon as you come in you could breathe the history of this place. Our room had a beautiful view on the Theatre and we'll surely come back for a longer stay. more
