My wife and I had a room booked at the Alloro B&B upstairs, but when we arrived, we were informed that there was some sort of problem and that we would be moved to the Burchianti one floor down. (We have still not been told what the problem was at the Alloro). The room we were given was nothing like... more

We arrived at this hotel and found that they only had a room for 1 night. We got the last room in the place, and although it was very small, it was a very nice and clean room. The breakfest was the best we had in Italy, and the staff pleasant. We went to check out and found that the... more

We had booked a room in the Alora B&B based on reviews. When we arrived, it turned out they had oversold, so we were brought downstairs to the Burchianti. The alora B&B and the Burchianti are in the same building. The Burchianti was fabulous! Out room was huge with frescoes on the walls and ceilings. The manager spoke excellent English... more

I go to Florence rather frequently. I have stayed at the Burchianti about six times during the past few years, most recently early in December 2007. There are about a dozen rooms. One is a small single. The rest are all spectacular doubles and triples - gigantic and beautifully decorated. The frescoes are old and wonderful, the beds and bathrooms... more

My wife and I stayed at Burchianti for two nights in October of 2007. It was a great relief after the tiny room we had in our previous two nights in Venice for the same price. The hotel property was well kept and very Florence. It is located on a lovely and quieter side-street just off of a main street... more

Overrated.People smoking in the corridors(even though it states it's a non smoking hotel),managers looses his temper whenever a problem arises and has terrible manners towards both clients and employees. No telephone in the room and no mobile signal. No English spoken. You can easily get more for less money, and if you want to see frescoes, head for Santa Croce instead:-) more

Too much decoration(maybe even on the kitsch side). However, shower wets the whole floor of the bathroom when you have a douche, and isolation(both from the street and from other rooms)is poor. more

This well located hotel has clean, charming rooms (especially the rooms with the frescoes) and the most friendly & helpful manager. I stayed in a single room which was average size for European standards although small by American standards, but Mario showed me one of the fresco rooms before I left - it was large and absolutely beautiful. Next time,... more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Burchianti in September, 2007 and found it to be lovely and very charming. Mario and his wife were the most gracious hosts. They very helpful in answering our questions and assisted us with advance reservations before we arrived in Italy. The hotel is small and intimate. One flaw is the "mini-bar" which consisted... more

The Hotel Burchianti is a charming find in the heart of Florence near the train station. We spent 4 nights here and had a beautiful, quiet, spacious room with a fresco on the ceiling. The manager (Mario) was charming and very helpful. He helped us arrange museum reservations and day trips to Siena and Chianti. The owner was also very... more
