Although this hotel can be a bit hard to find.. (we highly recommend taking your GPS).. it is a great little hotel. We got a wonderful price for three nights at the Hotel Caravaggio (less than whatwe paid for 1 or 2 nights in other cities). Our room was in the front of the hotel, but the noise at night was minimal. By morning we did hear the traffic, but we wanted to get up anyway--no use sleeping in while in Florence!... more

If you read JM Scotland's review, I met him while I was there. Leonardo and company do a great job of providing information. The room was fine, and I would agree that a room in the back was probably a better choice regarding noise. Also, we had a great view of the Duomo, as it is lit up at nite.... more

On arrival you get the impression that it is not going to be a particularly good hotel, as the street is very busy, the pavement is narrow and the actual way in to the hotel is not very attractive. This hotel was a great choice. It has very good facilities at a reasonable price; a hearty breakfast; friendly staff and an ideal location - generally quiet. Only a short walk from the railway station (but recommend a short bus ride to the door as the pavements are very narrow and pitted when pulling a case). Ask for a room... more
