An excellent guesthouse booked on the strength of the reviews on this site. The location is perfect; close enough to everything but slightly away from the tourist hordes (as far away as you can get in Venice anyway). The room was nice with a view over the canal and decent AC. The double bed was actually two singles pushed together... more

Located off the beaten path, but you can still walk everywhere. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is lovely, served in intimate garden setting. But most of all, what sets this B&B apart is the owner, Mr. Mattia. He will join the guests during breafast every morning and is available to answer questions about the history of Venice, places to go, etc.... more

Keeping the high prices of accomodation in Venice, this quiet bed and breakfast offers a very good value yet it is very close to the attractions and just one minute walk from vaporetto stop.Owner of the B&B, Mr. Mattia is very helpful and generous in sharing the knowledge about Venice.Cold breakfast is served with a choice of tea and coffee... more

This B&B is in a quiet area of Venice but still very close to vaporetto stops and within walking distance of the main tourist sites like Rialto and St Marks Square. It was clean and cosy, the owners are friendly and the continental breakfast is substantial (cereal, juice, yoghurt, bread, croissants, biscuits). The directions on the website are very good... more

We had a nice and clean room at this B&B, in a old restored building over a small canal. We had a minor misunderstanding with Mr.Mattia in the arriving day, wich made us walk through rainy Venice for about an hour. But once installed, and following Mattia's tips, you will forget any bad first impression. After all, Venice is amazing. more

3749 Ponte Chiodo is a little off the beaten path, in a quiet area of Venice, which was exactly where we wanted to be. We easily rode the vaporetto, or public water taxi, to St. Mark's Square and walked to other areas of the city. The property itself is clean and charming, with a beautiful courtyard where breakfast was served... more

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Mattia Basegio's bed and breakfast in the Canareggio section of Venice -- a quiet, non-touristy location, but still close to Venice's major attractions and transportation (Venice is pretty small). Our room was terrific: lovely antiques, tall, flowerbox-filled windows, and a very comfortable bed, as well as views down the bordering... more

We stayed for only two nights at the Ponte Chiodo. It is in a residential area of Venice (Ca d'oro water bus stop) yet only a five minute walk from a main through way. Our room was large (as was the bathroom). The place was clean, and the host very warm and welcoming. Each morning breakfast was served in the... more

3749 Ponte Chiodo was an absolute delight. Friendly Mr Baseggio and his assistant were very pleasant and ever helpful. The accommodation was spotless and sitting out in the garden for breakfast was pure pleasure. Ponte Chiodo is in easy distance of all the major sites yet quietly situated. Mr Baseggio is a mine of information- particularly with his knowledge of... more

First of all I have to say that we didn't plan our stay in Venice, it was a last minute decision due to trouble with our booked holyday in London. So I choosed some B&B and guesthouses address from the tripadvisor list, and finally found a room at Ponte Chiodo. It was decidedly a luckily discovery. The place is intimate... more
