We spent 3 nights at the ai due Fanali in Venice and had a great time. We arrived quite late (11pm) due to our flight but the receptionist had waited for us and had our key ready for us. We had to check in at a different hotel across the road, and I was concerned we would have the switching... more

Thought it had a "real Venice" feel to it: not glitzy, not a chain hotel, but unique, full of character and charm, clean, with nice touches and a professional staff. It's less than a 5 minute walk from the train station or bus square, which was very convenient for our coming and going: no need to haul our bags onto... more

I stayed here with my girlfriend and elderly mother. It's very close to the train station, yet pleasantly outside the touristy hubbub. We enjoyed being away from the traps of Piazza San Marco. The elevator was a reasonable size for a European hotel, the rooftop breakfast deck offers great views, the bathrooms were nice and well-appointed, and the ceilings of... more

If you want a city break then choose the small but exquisite hotel, the Ai de Fanali in Venice. Situated just off the Grand Canal close to the Scalzi Bridge is the most perfect little hotel. Originally a monastic school (and attached to a 'working' church that rings the tower bell at 7.30 every morning!) the Ai de Fanali is... more

I found this hotel through reviews in two different travel books. Both said it was "charming" and a "find." I was really looking forward to this hotel. Well, it does have some charm (in the lobby area) and a location not too far from the train station; but the room was VERY SMALL and dingy. I requested a non-smoking room... more

I stayed at Hotel Ai Due Fanali during the spring of 2000 and had such a positive experience! The accomodations were quaint and the rooms were kept very clean. The hotel is in a quiet section of the city and is relatively close to all of the major attractions. I would highly recommend Ai Due Fanali. more

We stayed at this hotel on the third & final leg of our honeymoon and liked this hotel the best. It was slightly difficult to find but the locals were very helpful with directions. Very well furnished and double room we occupied was a good size and with a lovely wood ceiling. Breakfast was a buffet which could be taken... more

Great hotel for those, like us, who prefer not to be surrounded by other tourists. In an unusually quiet neighborhood in Santa Croce, close to several eating places beautifully situated on secondary canals and frequented almost exclusively by locals. Also close to THE BEST ice cream in Venice. Hpowever, it is a good 15 minute walk to the Rialto, close... more
