Although the hotel is on the outside of the central Venice, we found it to be handy to everything. Everything is walkable and within 30 minutes but it is nice to have the water bus ticket for 2, 3 days especially when you have been walking all day and your feet are tired. Definitely a nice hotel. Not sure that it is worth the canal view room....This made the stay VERY noisy. There is a walk way below the window (we were fortunate to have a balcony room overlooking the canal). All day and night you could hear the people pulling their suitcases on the walk below.
