The location is the main attraction, being a short walk from St Mark’s Square and 100m from the water bus stop which led right up the Grand Canal. The views over the lagoon are fantastic. Okay, so the hotel could do with a refurb, but what a great location! Our room overlooked the Lagoon and we had the most fantastic views - archytpal Venice was just outside our windows and St Mark's was maybe 50-100ms away. The hotel is in a great location....you don't have to lug heavy bags very far once off water ferry. And there are ramps on and off water bus and over most main bridges in Venice. We stayed at the Hotel Gabrielli the first week of October 2007. Although a superior room overlooking the lagoon had been requested, we were ushered to room 103 in the back.
