We were touring on our honeymoon having just married in Bellagio, Lake Como. We stumbled upon the Palazzo Dolci which suited our needs, lovely room with great view of the old town, easy to walk to bars, restaurants shops and the funicular tram. This hotel is very central for both the "new" and "old" towns, being just 5 minutes walk from the funicular. It's in a stunning old building, but the inside is fresh and modern. The rooms aren't huge, but that's very typical of Italy. The bathroom, however, was pretty big and beautifully equipped. The best of both worlds - highly recommended. more

We flew into Bergamo with Ryanair from Liverpool. Most people on the flight went to Milan. This is a shame as Bergamo is a lovely town with a great medieval hilltop centre and is well worth dwelling a night. Plenty of parking in the roads nearby.
