This place was the best place we stayed at over a four week european vacation. Was it the fanciest? No. But it was the most memorable. It had a self serve bar of beer and wine over looking the town and sea. The rooms were nice and big. The host was amazing. I can't say enough of how I think... more

It was a bit of a hike to get to Manuel's, but worth it. Simple lodging, but a great view. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Manuel, but certainly enjoyed the stay & would recommend it. more

Manuel's guesthouse was more than I expected. It was a clean, simple, no frills guest house with an amazing view, kind and gentle hosts, two lovely dogs and very reasonably priced wine/beer on the terrace overlooking the town. It was well worth the climb up 138 stairs and was the perfect place to return to for a bit of relaxing... more

We stayed at Manuel's last week and it was the best part of our trip! The "rustic, artsy bungalow" descriptions we ran across hit it head on, and it was just perfect to stay in a place as much unencumbered by technology as Cinque Terre itself! I highly recommend it, and be sure to request the balcony room :) more

Cinque Terre was my favorite spot out of my entire backpacking trip and Manuels Guest house confirmed it. Talk about a treasure, this place is it. If you reserve a room with better half, make sure to get the balcony room (specifically ask for it). I almost thought about not writing this because I didnt want to spoil this place... more

We took the advice of other travelers and stayed at Manuels. We happened to be passing through during the off season and the town was dead. Also, Manuel seemed pretty busy with other things while we were there. He was nice but distant while we were there. The views were great, but I imagine that views throughout a lot of... more

We arrived in Monterosso and Manuel was waiting for us in the village He showed us the way to his Guesthouse and then let us continue the long climb to the top, with our suitcases (142 steps) Thank goodness my husband and I are fit. It was worth the climb and we were given the front double room with a... more

If you want the Ritz, go there. If you are looking for a place to relax, unwind and enjoy Cinque Terre this is the place. It was like staying at a friends house...the place is really clean but your friends are not going to come into your room and change your sheets everyday! I would recommend this to my best... more

Initially, we looked for a more classy place to stay than Manuel's, but everything else was booked. We 'settled' for Manuel's as they seemed very friendly and wonderfully relaxed in the email correspondance. We ended up feeling the MOST LUCKY, not just in Monterosso, but in all of Cinqueterre! Not only did we have the best view over the nicest... more

We were pretty disappointed with how commercial the Cinque Terre had become. It is full of new hotels and shops. You can tell that everyone's out to make a buck. After visiting a bunch of hotels that just didn't have the feel we were looking for, we went up to Manuel's. The room we had was basic but comfy with... more
