This was the highlight of my two week vacation in Europe with my husband! We loved Cinque Terre and were very happy to have chosen to stay in Manarola. The whole region is quite charming – the hiking trails are so well maintained, the views are spectacular, the people are so nice and the food is amazing! We stayed during... more

My sister and I traveled to Italy in March '07 in order to celebrate her big 50 birthday. I had booked us online at a different B&B (which shall remain nameless and was so terrible that we hope it is out of business by now). In looking for a new place to stay, we traversed the streets of Manarola and... more

Yes, the walk up the hill with suitcases IS intimidating... HOWEVER, our party of three seniors managed to make it!! And, one of us was only several months away from having had both knees replaced and I had recently got rid of a boot cast worn for 8 weeks as the result of a broken foot. So, the climb is... more

There are very few rewards worthy of the afternoon toil of climbing up Manarola's steep main drag, with luggage in tow, on a hot and muggy afternoon. In fact, some may see the trek to get from the small train station, situated at the base of the steep ravine which is Manarola, to its star B&B "La Toretta Charme &... more

Our only regret with staying at La Torretta is that we could not stay longer. Gabriele is a very gracious host. He had excellent recommendations for restaurants and even helped us book a hotel room in Lucca! We loved the breakfast and were happy to see that an omelette was available. The rooms were comfortable, clean and we loved the... more

My husband and I stayed at La Torretta for 3 nights in May '08. The hotel itself was nicely designed...very modern decor & style...also very clean and well maintained. Our room was very nice...described by the hotel as a "romantic junior design suite with big bathroom and small balcony seaview"...it was made up of 3 small rooms...a bedroom, sitting area,... more

How can I begin to describe a perfect three days in Manarola? Gabby treated us so well. The b & b was so amazing...clean, charming, relaxing...the staff was attentive. We felt so welcome and enjoyed everything. If you stay in Manarola...you have to stay at La Torretta! more

My family of four just returned from Italy and our first stay after Milan was La Torretta. We rented a car so we parked above the hotel and didn't have to walk from the train station which would have been brutal. We had two rooms one above the other and were very happy with the decor. Gabrielle fixed us the best... more

La Torretta is a beautiful, quaint B&B. While the property is located up a fairly steep hill, it is well worth the effort to get there! We stayed for two nights on the first leg of our trip to Italy. The staff was very friendly and made dinner reservations for us both nights. We enjoyed breakfast each morning - a... more

Our stay for 3 nights was very pleasant. The rooms, although on the small side were beautifully presented & had great views. Don't be put off by the walk up to the B & B - it was not far. If you are fit enough to walk the paths of the 5 villages - the walk back to La Torretta,... more
