The hotel is excellent. The rooms were very large with air condition, minibar and balcony (nice view through the city) the location is very good with lots of good restaurants, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was super (especially the coffee). This is definitely not a 3-star hotel! We stayed 2 nights: the 2nd night we woke up at 3 am bitten by bed bugs! There were at least half a dozen bugs crawling on our bed sheets!!! I stayed there for 5 nights in September 2005. Room was in the second floor. Room was clean, bed was okay, minibar was there, also air condition. Bathroom was okay, but shower cabin was very small. Breakfast was very good (for Italian breakfasts ;-). It is very near to main street (via indepenzia) of Bologna. Would stay there again. more

The Holiday Hotel is very well situated for walking to all the sites within the city. However if like us you are driving to the hotel: 1/ Have a very good map - there are lots of one way systems, the very narrow Via Bertiera is one way west bound, which is off Alessandrini (which becomes Oberdan) street one way... more
