We stayed in Hotel Porto San Mamolo for one night in August. we couldn't have asked for a more helpful and friendly place. The hotel was small but beautiful and was really Italian. Our rooms were clean and nice size. When we arrived our bags were taken up to our room. The owner reccommended the nicest little restaurant that night.... more

We have recently returned from a trip to Italy and France and Hotel Porta San Mamolo was by far the best hotel we stayed in....it is located in the nicest part of Bologna near the hills but less than a very pleasant 10 minute walk to the main piazza (the beautiful Piazza Maggiore). The staff were fantastic....they were happy to... more

Small but very cute hotel found in the "6:00" part of the circular road that goes around the city center. Its a bit of a walk to the city center itself (10-15 mins) but the porticos definitely made the walk easier during the hot days. The hotel is more of the European boutique look, but it was very cozy. We... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. the room we stayed in was lovely and really nicely furnished with a wonderfully comfy bed! The bathroom was great with a very spacious shower and everything was very clean. the reception staff could not have been more helpful and went out of their way to help us make the most of... more

We stayed in Bologna for one night as we were driving around the area for the last week of our honeymoon. We had stayed in a few different hotels on this trip in the same price range and we found this hotel was not the best in terms of value. The room was clean, but very dated and in need... more

We stayed two nights at the Porta San Mamolo hotel in Bologna this past July while on our honeymoon. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we arrived at 8pm. We did have some trouble finding the place as Google map had given confusing directions and the hotel itself is down what looks like an alley. But we finally... more

We just spent 6 glorious days in Bologna and 2 weeks in italy. Porta San Mamolo was the best hotel of our entire trip. The location is excellent, the breakfast varied and was fresh and delicious. Our room was large and spacious. The staff are wonderful. They helped us with any number of things including how to get out of... more

We stayed in Bologna for two nights at the beginning of a 12 day trip throuhgout Italy. Hotel's location was perfect- walkable to the Piazza Maggiore-but away from the people and the noise. Hotel staff recommended a restaurant called Sangiovese (on the same street as the hotel ) where we had one of the best meals of our trip. The... more

I picked Hotel Porta San Mamolo for our three nights in Bologna based on the reviews here on TripAdvisor. I was not disappointed. It is located on the southern edge of the historical city center and so is a bit farther from the Piazza Maggiore than other hotels, but with Bologna's porticoed sidewalks it's an easy walk in any weather.... more

We recently chose to stay in Hotel Porta San Mamolo, largely based on the reviews in Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. The hotel is conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the main piazza and Bologna town center. We immediately felt comfortable upon checking in, as the hotel staff (particularly Elisa) was very friendly and helpful. The hotel... more
