We stayed at the Villa San Pio for the first three nights of our honeymoon in Italy and also the last night before we headed back to the US. We has a beautiful room with a large wrap-around balconey. The staff was pleasant and the breakfast decent. This hotel is located very close to the Metro station making it accessible... more
This is a charming hotel set a kilometer or two back from the touristy area surrounding the Collisseum and Roman Forum. Attractions are still available via the Pyramida metro stop, located within a reasonable walking distance from the hotel. Staff is sufficiently helpful, and the bathrooms are large and luxurious by European standards. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi feature in our bathtub... more
I had a 3 night stay here with my sister in September 2007. We had originally booked another hotel but due to having to change our dates we rebooked and booked Villa San Pio. What a great decision. The staff were all very pleasant at the front desk and were happy to call taxis , recommend local restaurants etc. Some... more
My husband and I just spent three nights in this charming small hotel. When checking in we were asked if we minded being on the ground level. My husband, 12-year old daughter and 15-year old son and I spent three days at Villa San Pio and we really loved it. We had a large double room (Room 530 on 4th floor) with a large terrace that had tables and chairs to sit and view the Aventine Hill and smell the wisteria and jasmine blooming everywhere. Hotel is... more
This gem of a hotel is tucked away in a quiet up-scale residential area on the Aventine Hill, just a short walk from two metro stations, the ancient Roman Forum and many other sights. It's about 2 miles from the Vatican. (The hotel is on a hill so you need to be able to comfortably walk at least 2-3 miles... more
Located on the historic Aventine Hill, this beautiful hotel sits right in the middle of a beautiful upscale neighborhood in "Real Rome". Far enough from the touristy areas to feel comfortable, but still close enough to see the sights with a short walk or ride on the metro. We stayed here over the christmas holiday with family and loved every... more
We just returned from our Italian vacation a few days ago. We spent three days in Rome at this hotel. We booked directly through the hotel based on the reviews from tripadvisor and we are so glad we did. We obviously stayed in the off season and were able to book a quadruple room for only 180 euros a night.... more
